Paper 1: Storytelling
The purpose of this paper is to retell an episode from
either The Wind in the Willows or Puck of Pook’s Hill. Do not
simply paraphrase the story, but tell it in a way that is original. You can
focus on a different aspect of the story or fill in things that could be added
to the story. You can use one of the suggested episodes below or you can choose
your own. Please see the document below for an example of how to retell a
story.

Paper 2: Analysing
The purpose of this paper is to analyze two characters from David Copperfield. You have been assigned two characters to write about: one is a character you like, the other, you dislike. You must right at least 200 words for each character. Your essays should include some background of the character (i.e., what part they play, how important they are), as well as an analysis of their character. Ask yourself: what makes this character good/bad? What do they do in the story that makes us like or dislike them? Would you want to know this person?
